Organisations bringing together Serbs in region important partners for government

Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations with the diaspora Đorđe Milićević today opened the 23rd conference of Serbian national organisations from countries of the region, which was held this year in Čačak.

Organisations bringing together Serbs in the region are important and reliable partners of the Government of Serbia and the Minister’s Office, because they preserve the Serbian language and Cyrillic script, our culture and tradition, while also representing the interests of the Serbian community, Milićević pointed out.

According to him, in the previous period, this support was reflected through joint programmes and projects, support for the work of our organisations and constant communication with people on the ground, while in the coming period, this cooperation will be intensified and the support increased.

Only strong and connected Serbian communities can preserve their identity, rights and institutions in the long term, the Minister said, noting that only through joint efforts can future generations continue to speak the Serbian language, write in Cyrillic, know their history and proudly preserve their national identity.
