Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović spoke today with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Anke Holstein about the process of Serbia’s accession to the European Union.

Serbia committed to open dialogue with Germany on EU accession

Starović highlighted the importance of maintaining permanent dialogue with Germany, as one of the European Union’s most important member states and a key partner in Serbia’s EU accession process.
The Minister expressed his expectation that Germany will continue to support concrete reform results and Serbia’s progress towards EU membership.
He underlined that Serbia is committed to accelerating the reform process and further harmonising domestic legislation with the EU acquis.
During the talks, special attention was paid to the possibilities for further German support for Serbia’s modernisation process, especially through expert and development assistance in the areas of the rule of law, environmental protection, sustainable development, as well as assistance in strengthening the institutional capacities of the Serbian public administration.
Starović specifically informed Ambassador Holstein about the activities that the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Kosovo and Metohija are carrying out against the Serb and other non-Albanian population.
