Among other matters, the meeting discussed opportunities to further accelerate and simplify existing procedures, while fully respecting food safety and quality standards.
The meeting paid particular attention to the inspection regime for milk and dairy products, as well as other issues faced by businesses engaged in bilateral trade, with an agreement reached that the relevant expert services will continue direct communication to ensure that outstanding issues are resolved swiftly and at a professional level.
The importance of these issues is reflected in the volume of bilateral trade. Agri-food trade between Serbia and North Macedonia reached a record €441.9 million in 2025, of which Serbian exports amounted to €322.6 million.
The positive trend has continued this year, with Serbian exports reaching €162.3 million in the first six months of 2026, an increase of 6.4% compared with the same period last year.
