Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today by phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Oana Țoiu about the current situation on the Danube, caused by exceptionally low water levels, and the possibilities for coordinated action by the two countries aimed at mitigating the consequences for the economy and the functioning of river traffic.

Đurić and Țoiu stressed the importance of close cooperation between the competent institutions of Serbia and Romania in monitoring the situation and taking measures that will contribute to maintaining navigation safety and an uninterrupted functioning of traffic on the Danube.
The ministers also discussed possibilities for re-establishing the cross-border railway connection between Serbia and Romania, which would make a significant contribution to improving connectivity and strengthening economic cooperation.
