At the meeting between Murashko and Popović, who is leading Serbia’s delegation on a two-day visit to Moscow, discussions focused on the development and application of innovative therapies, with particular attention devoted to personalised mRNA vaccines in the treatment of oncology patients.
Popović recalled that in 2025, Russia received the first approval in the world for the clinical application of the therapeutic personalised anti-tumour mRNA vaccine NeoOncovac, which represented a major breakthrough in the fight against the most serious oncological diseases.
He pointed out that it is of particular importance for Serbia that it has begun taking concrete steps with its Russian partners so that patients in Serbia can also have access to this state-of-the-art therapy.
According to him, work is currently under way to establish an institutional framework for cooperation, and the next steps will be implemented through cooperation between the competent institutions of the two countries.
Also, as he stated, a working group has been formed to prepare and sign the necessary agreements, which will enable patients from Serbia to gain access to the most modern Russian therapies for the treatment of cancer, including the personalised Russian mRNA vaccine against cancer.
