Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić welcomed today, at the Constantine the Great Airport in Niš, members of the Serbian Armed Forces who had completed their engagement in the UN peacekeeping operation in the Republic of Lebanon - UNIFIL and saw off a new contingent of Serbian peacekeepers who will take part in that mission in the next six months.

The welcoming of the peacekeepers began with a minute of silence to pay tribute to the fallen Staff Sergeant of the 2nd Army Brigade Milovan Jovanović, who tragically lost his life in that peacekeeping mission.
Today, an infantry company of the 3rd Army Brigade has been deployed to the UNIFIL peacekeeping operation, which will carry out the peacekeeping tasks as part of the Spanish contingent in Sector East over the next six months.
