We are reaching out to citizens, with the intention of ensuring continuous support in resolving concrete problems, the Prime Minister said while touring the office of the regional representative of the Prime Minister’s Office in Vranje.
According to him, the objectives are to bring the work and priorities of the government closer to citizens through a direct presence on the ground, a better understanding of local needs and more efficient overcoming of problems.
Representatives of local institutions and public enterprises, as well as state secretaries, assistant ministers and other government members responsible for specific areas, will be involved in the work of the offices, which will also be opened in Niš, Aranđelovac, Pančevo, Užice, Bor, Šabac, Ruma, Zrenjanin and Belgrade.
Macut stated that regional representatives will serve as a direct link between the Prime Minister’s Office, local self-governments, businesses and individuals, with the task of improving communication, accelerating project implementation and contributing to the balanced development of all parts of Serbia.
Through this model of work, the Government of Serbia is further strengthening accountability, transparency and citizen-oriented governance as the key principles of its work, the Prime Minister stated.
The Prime Minister met with Vranje Mayor Slobodan Milenković, MD, and directors of public enterprises, and also visited furniture maker Simpo, one of the drivers of economic development in this part of Serbia, and discussed with the management further plans and challenges they face.
