Macut pointed out that hybrid threats, such as disinformation, cyberattacks, economic pressure and political interference, aim not only to weaken states, but also to undermine trust in institutions and democratic processes.
According to him, for Serbia these challenges are not abstract, but a reality, given its geopolitical position.
Strengthening democratic resilience is not only a political goal, but also a necessity, as confirmed by the efforts of the European Union in countering hybrid threats, the Prime Minister explained.
He emphasised that, in addition to institutions, the role of citizens is also crucial, highlighting the importance of education, media and digital literacy as the strongest defence against disinformation.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia remains firmly committed to European integration and to strengthening shared values such as democracy, the rule of law and collective security.
What we are protecting are not only systems, but the values that define us as democratic societies, Macut concluded.
