At the Nestlé factory, Macut stated that he was impressed by the level of innovation, efficiency and dedication of the employees, and expressed his gratitude to the factory’s management and the Swiss Confederation for their continuous support and partnership.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Serbia greatly values its friendship with Switzerland, noting that Nestlé is a good example of how strong partnerships and investments can bring tangible benefits to local communities and create opportunities for citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony at the Ložionica, Macut said that the cooperation programme between the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation for the period 2026–2029 represents a new chapter in Serbia–Switzerland relations and confirms the decades-long friendship and strength of the partnership.
He recalled that, over 35 years of cooperation through such programmes in various forms, the work of municipalities across Serbia has been significantly improved through the modernisation of public administration, and that results have also been achieved in the fields of sustainable development and the strengthening of democratic capacities.
Thanks to previous projects, the quality of everyday life in many parts of Serbia has improved, the Prime Minister underlined, expressing gratitude to Switzerland for its decision to continue this cooperation in the coming period.
He pointed out that the programme is fully socially inclusive, with special attention devoted to vulnerable population groups, adding that a new chapter of cooperation has been opened in which education will play the leading role.
The President of Switzerland stated that the ties between the two countries are strong and encompass a wide range of areas, highlighting intensive economic cooperation and close cultural exchange, which further connect the two societies.
Serbia is an important partner in the Western Balkans region, and there is significant potential for further strengthening cooperation, Parmelin said, adding that Switzerland will continue to support local self-government units and the development of Serbian companies, with the aim of strengthening sustainable and inclusive growth.
The President of the Swiss Confederation is on an official visit to Serbia with his delegation.
