The meeting primarily addressed the need to ensure equal treatment and consistent representation of the academic community outside the Republic of Serbia.
The Prime Minister emphasised the need to harmonise the representation of the academic community, noting that any appearance on its behalf requires an agreed platform among all representatives in Serbia, with the aim of avoiding further politicisation and polarisation.
He assessed that such an approach is crucial and necessary for preserving the hard-won stability within the academic community, following the period in 2025 when the work of all state academic institutions was blocked.
The meeting also highlighted the need to raise the level of media dialogue culture and to reduce tensions in the public sphere.
Also, the steps achieved in the implementation of the Reform Agenda, to which the Government of the Republic of Serbia is fully committed, were discussed and analysed, with the aim of reaching the set objectives, despite the fact that in certain areas they are not defined in the most realistic manner.
The Prime Minister thanked the Head of the Delegation for responding to the urgent invitation and stated that discussions with representatives of the Delegation of the EU to Serbia, as well as with officials of the European Commission, will continue on a regular basis, as continuous dialogue is key to resolving outstanding issues and advancing progress in all areas.
