During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on opportunities to enhance bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation and the renewed strengthening of the presence of Serbian companies in the Libyan market.
Macut underlined that Serbia remains committed to developing partnership relations with Libya, particularly in the areas of construction, energy, healthcare and education.
The interlocutors agreed that there is significant potential to intensify cooperation through the implementation of joint projects, as well as through institutional support for economic cooperation.
It was agreed that, under their auspices, concrete areas of cooperation will be defined in the coming period, with a focus on infrastructure, healthcare, energy and increasing trade.
It was also agreed that a business forum will be organised in Belgrade in the near future, to be jointly opened by the two prime ministers.
It was emphasised that the decades-long friendship between the Serbian and Libyan peoples should be accompanied by stronger economic ties, in line with the already existing political relations.
They also discussed current regional and global issues, stressing the importance of peace, stability and respect for international law.
The Serbian Prime Minister particularly pointed to the importance of consistent respect for international law, both in the case of Serbia and Libya.
The importance of continuing political dialogue and exchanging high-level visits was highlighted, with the aim of further strengthening overall relations between the two countries, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation in training, knowledge transfer and the implementation of joint infrastructure and energy projects.
Macut is leading a delegation of the Republic of Serbia on a visit to the Republic of Türkiye, where he is participating in ADF2026, “Mapping Tomorrow, Navigating Uncertainties”, held under the auspices of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from 17 to 19 April in Antalya.
