Macut emphasised that, at a time of major global challenges as well as complex domestic circumstances, the government has remained firmly committed to preserving Serbia’s stability, implementing reforms and strengthening its international position.
Our full attention has been devoted to the economy, healthcare, education, social policy and international cooperation, with a clear goal of ensuring that tangible progress is felt in the everyday lives of citizens, Macut underlined.
According to him, macroeconomic stability has been preserved, and the government has worked to maintain stable public finances, control inflation and continue the growth of wages and pensions, while ensuring the protection of citizens’ living standards and the country’s economic security.
In the field of healthcare, as he pointed out, significant headway has been made in the availability of modern therapies, particularly in oncology, alongside improvements to healthcare infrastructure.
The Prime Minister noted that systemic changes have also begun in education, especially in higher education, with the aim of modernising faculties, improving the quality of studies and developing new, higher-quality programmes aligned with the contemporary needs of society and the labour market.
At the same time, he stressed that Serbia has further strengthened its international position through intensified diplomatic activity, with the aim of renewing long-standing friendships and consolidating new ones.
According to him, special attention has also been devoted to enhancing cooperation with Republika Srpska through the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, as well as strengthening scientific and educational ties.
In parallel, cooperation with European partners and the United States has been further improved, while particular focus has been placed on strengthening relations with countries in Africa and other regions, Macut noted.
The Prime Minister also recalled that, in the fields of construction, transport and infrastructure, projects of strategic importance have been launched and are being intensively implemented across Serbia, including the construction of motorways, metro systems, bypasses and the upgrading of local infrastructure.
At the same time, as he highlighted, the Expo 2027 project is also being implemented, which will significantly contribute to the transformation of Belgrade and serve as a key driver of Serbia’s further development and modernisation.
According to him, particular emphasis has been placed on strengthening institutional accountability and improving the efficiency of the system.
In the field of social policy, measures to support families, pensioners and the most vulnerable population groups have continued to be enhanced, Macut stated, adding that special attention has been focused on strengthening the conditions for a stable and dignified family life.
