Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, visited the West Bačka District today, where he toured the Junaković Special Rehabilitation Hospital in Apatin and, in Kula, spoke with residents, doctors and the municipal leadership.
Macut said that the goal of the Serbian government is to ensure even stronger development of this region.
According to him, special attention will be paid to the development of the Banja Junaković spa, as it is an important healthcare and tourism centre of the West Bačka District and has significant potential for further development.
In Crvenka, the Prime Minister visited the paving works on Borisa Kidriča Street, visited the Church of Saint Sava and spoke with local residents.
Macut recalled that, during his visit to this region, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had spoken about major plans for the West Bačka District, and that the task of the Serbian government, as the Prime Minister emphasised, is to implement those plans.
These include new investments and factories that will create new jobs, as well as major infrastructure projects that will strengthen the region’s connectivity with the rest of Serbia, he specified.
One of the most important projects is the construction of a high-speed road that would connect Bački Breg, Sombor, Kula, Vrbas, Srbobran, Bečej and Kikinda, said Macut, adding that the construction of this road will open the door to new investors, new jobs and new opportunities for the people of Kula.
