Macut said that Expo 2027 is an opportunity for the entire country and a strong driver for the further development of tourism and hospitality.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Expo encourages investments in infrastructure, accommodation capacities, new facilities and quality of service and, most importantly, raises the international visibility of Serbia.
The Prime Minister stated that the concept of the “Serbian House” is particularly important, as a pillar of the integral development of Serbia, through which the entire national strength from all regions of our country will be presented during the Expo – tourist, gastronomic, cultural, economic, scientific, innovative and creative.
Macut pointed out that the strategic focus on balanced development and connecting the entire country through tourism yields concrete and measurable results, since tourism turnover in Serbia is showing growth in early 2026, while 2025 was marked by more than four million arrivals and more than 12 million overnight stays, with a foreign exchange inflow of €2.5 billion, which is a significant increase compared to 2019.
The Prime Minister also recalled data from the World Tourism Organisation (UN Tourism), according to which Serbia was among the most successful European destinations in terms of relative growth in international arrivals in 2025 compared to 2019.
The 47th International Tourism Fair, which is being held under the slogan “One Journey, a Thousand Stories”, is expected to see the direct participation of 20 countries, and the 21st International Hotel and Catering Equipment Fair – HORECA will also be held, under the slogan “Help Yourselves”.
The partner country is Cyprus, which will specifically present its tourism offer and cultural heritage.
