Macut, who together with Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić laid wreaths at the Karađorđe Monument, pointed out that today in Orašac, the symbol of Serbian unity, we remember the moments when the Serbian people showed historical courage throughout the centuries and when, under the leadership of Karađorđe, they embarked on the path of preserving and liberating our country.
He stated that Sretenje not only awakened the national spirit and unity, but also, thanks to one of the most liberal constitutions – the Sretenje Constitution, laid the foundations of a modern state and the functioning of state bodies.
According to him, Serbia is today a strong state that is moving forward, with a growing economy and historically highest pensions and salaries, and thanks to all the reforms implemented, citizens have more opportunities for work and education.
Macut told the young that they are the bearers of the future, the pillar of our homeland and the force that will always keep Serbia upright and will not allow anyone to take away its freedom and pride.
The Prime Minister pointed out that differences between citizens exist, which is natural, but that love for the homeland must overcome all differences, because only when together, through dialogue, respect and common values, we can build bridges of understanding, and preserve and develop the country.
He stressed that peace is the foundation of everything, and that the Serbian people wish peace, calling on all citizens to always be united, brave and proud out of love for Serbia.
