On this occasion, Vučić expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by the Serbian Armed Forces, pointing out that the allocations for the defence and security system are at a record high and amount to about 2.65 percent of the gross domestic product.
He said that it is important to preserve peace, and we can only do this by deterring potential attacks on our country, while there is great concern about the formation of military alliances in our surroundings against Serbia.
He added that in view of that fact, we are acting responsibly and seriously, not provoking anyone, but we want to deter anyone who would commit aggression against our country.
The defence capacities of the Air Force and Air Defence have been drastically increased, and in the coming years they will be further improved, as well as the capacities in all branches of the military, said the Serbian President.
Vučić announced that a decision will be made in the next month or two on the reintroduction of the mandatory 75-day military service, as well as on whether it will start in December this year or March next year.
The President of the Republic and Supreme Commander was briefed on the implementation of the tasks set after last year's analysis on the condition and capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces, which are the factors that decisively influenced the development of capabilities in the past year, and the measures that need to be taken in 2026.
