Great opportunities for cooperation between Serbia, Canada in field of agriculture

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, discussed today with Canadian Ambassador to Serbia Michelle Cameron and members of the Canadian parliamentary delegation, specific opportunities for improving cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture.

The talks focused on livestock breeding, improving the genetic potential of cattle, as well as the application of artificial intelligence and modern technologies that can contribute to more efficient production and farm management.

Glamočić emphasised that Serbia wants to direct cooperation with Canada towards specific projects whose results will be visible and applicable in domestic agriculture.

He said that Canada has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of cattle genetics, modern technologies in animal husbandry and the application of artificial intelligence in farm management.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed further improving trade in agricultural and food products, expanding the range of Serbian products on the Canadian market, as well as strengthening veterinary cooperation and removing administrative and technical obstacles to export.

Glamočić assessed that the intensified political and economic contacts between the two countries represent a good basis for further improving cooperation in the field of agriculture and translating it into concrete projects of direct benefit to farmers.
