In a joint address to journalists with the head of French diplomacy, Đurić emphasised that the overall bilateral relations between Serbia and France are characterised by constant progress, and that economic cooperation has experienced a real boom in the past few years.
Together with French partners, we are modernising our infrastructure, both transport – from the Belgrade metro and Belgrade airport, to various projects that are important for the environment, through new technologies and extraordinary cooperation in the field of modernisation of our defence sector.
He said that today, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali and Barrot signed a joint statement on the start of the first phase of the construction of the Belgrade metro, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of the Veliko Selo Phase 1 collector project.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also referred to European integration, which is a strategic priority for Serbia, expressing gratitude for France’s support for the opening of Cluster 3.
Pointing to the extremely developed political dialogue between Serbia and France, the Minister expressed gratitude to that country for its support for the opening of Cluster 3.
The Serbian Foreign Minister said that he had also discussed the situation in Kosovo and Metohija with Minister Barrot and that he had informed him of the problems and pressures that the Serb population is facing in this area.
The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs conveyed the clear support of France for Serbia's European integration.
France will continue to support Serbia's European aspirations. The pace of the accession process depends primarily on the efforts you will make to meet the membership criteria. On this path to membership in the European Union, France will be by your side, the French Foreign Minister said.
Barrot added that they also discussed France’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027, as well as the Belgrade-Priština dialogue, noting that France strongly supports the activities of the EU Special Representative.
Đurić and Barrot today laid wreaths at the Monument of Gratitude to France.
