Vučić announced on this occasion that the entire Morava Corridor will be completed by September 2026, and that the section inaugurated today will be opened to traffic on 25 December, from 8:00.
He stated that out of the total 112 kilometres of the highway, two more sections with a total length of about 40 kilometres remain to be completed, adding that it is planned that the Čačak-Kraljevo, that is Preljina-Adrani section will be opened in May or June, and that the section from Adrani to Vrba will be completed after that.
The inauguration of the section was also attended by Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Serbia Alexander Titolo, Ambassador of the United Kingdom Edward Ferguson and Ambassador of Türkiye İlhan Saygılı.
Titolo emphasised that this motorway is one of the results of the strong partnership between Serbia and the United States, noting that 2025 was an important year marking the beginning of a new era in relations between the two countries.
The Turkish Ambassador assessed that this project reflects Serbia’s strong vision for development and stressed that relations between Serbia and Türkiye are built on trust, dialogue and tangible results.
Ferguson stated that his country has been committed to financing this endeavour from the outset, as it connects the Serbian and British economies and strengthens trade and economic exchange.
