Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said today in Vienna, where he is participating in the OSCE Ministerial Council, that Serbia strongly supports peace in Europe and the work of the OSCE as an important instrument of peace.
In his address to journalists, Đurić emphasised that it is important to support the Helsinki Act and other acts that guarantee the territorial integrity and equal cooperation of countries.
He particularly pointed to the position of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, stating that the Serbian people are being denied basic rights, including the right to vote, and added that Serbia expects OSCE missions operating in our country to support the most vulnerable, namely the Serbs in our southern province.
The Minister assessed that it is important for Serbia to receive a positive political signal, given the reforms it has implemented, especially in recent months in cooperation with the European Commission, so that Serbian society is treated equally in Europe.
Đurić emphasised the importance of the continued presence of Serbian representatives on the international stage, especially in the field of economy and infrastructure, so that Serbia is treated equally and protected from political or ideological pressures.
The Minister conveyed Serbia’s essential message, which is support for the OSCE as an instrument of peace, preservation of territorial integrity and strong protection of the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
