At a joint conference with Butale, Đurić said that Serbia highly values its partnership and friendly relations with Botswana, recalling that this year the two countries are marking 55 years of friendship, which began during the time of joint support for the liberation of the African continent.
He stated that the meeting represents a confirmation of the strong ties between the two countries, but also a new impetus for overall cooperation in line with Serbia’s efforts to deepen political, economic, cultural and educational relations with African partners.
The Minister expressed special gratitude for Botswana’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, emphasising that during the conversation he informed Minister Butale about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
According to him, Serbia and Botswana share an understanding of the importance of respecting international law as a fundamental principle of global stability.
The head of Serbian diplomacy pointed to great opportunities for improving cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture, the information and communication technology sector and educational cooperation.
Butale, who is on his first visit to Serbia, referred to the rich history and close relations between the two countries, which, as he emphasised, are firmly committed to respecting international law and the principle of territorial integrity.
He invited Serbian companies to invest in Botswana and expressed interest in intensifying cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology.
