Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar today handed over funds worth 625,000 dinars obtained through games of chance to the president of the municipality of Sombor.
Loncar told a press conference that the Sombor municipality competed for these funds and received them for the realisation of the project “Municipality Geographic Information System”. He said that Sombor will also get “several million euros” from the national investment fund.
He recalled that the third round of the competition for funds obtained through games of chance is underway. A sum of 105 million dinars will be given for the development of local self-governments in this round.
According to Loncar, funds worth 106 million dinars were available during the first round. The money was given to 55 municipalities of which 11 are in Vojvodina, and in the second round 208 million dinars were distributed among 70 municipalities of which 28 are in Vojvodina.
During his visit to the Western Backa district, the Minister also visited the municipality of Odzaci.
