Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
Đurić said that Serbia sees the OSCE as the most important security platform for substantive and constructive dialogue, conveying Serbia’s readiness to contribute to its revitalisation in the current geopolitical situation, with full preservation of the principle of consensus.
The Minister underlined the necessity of preserving the OSCE’s comprehensive status-neutral approach with regard to Kosovo and Metohija, expressing serious concern over the current situation in the province, due to systematic and continuous violations of the rights of Serbs.
Serbia, he said, expects the international community to react and urgently ensure all rights and full security of Serbs, in order to prevent their expulsion from Kosovo and Metohija.
He also reiterated that Serbia advocates the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
