The forum, dedicated to the future of agro-industry, export cooperation and joint response to the challenges of climate change and global instability, was organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the public agency SPIRIT Slovenija, with the support of institutions from both countries.
At the forum, Glamočić pointed out that Serbia’s agriculture today exports more than €5 billion annually and that Serbia is recognised as a leading producer of fruit, particularly raspberries and plums, noting that products with added value, such as wines, cheeses and meat products, are occupying an increasingly important place.
The Minister expressed his confidence that this forum will bring new ideas on how to strengthen trade exchange and how to present the Adriatic region as an area of cooperation rather than competition.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport of Slovenia Dejan Židan, who led the Slovenian delegation, underlined that the stable relations between Serbia and Slovenia, as well as their historical friendship, provide an advantage in times of global uncertainty.
At a time when the rules of world trade are becoming less predictable, friendships and trust are even more important. Therefore, the forum is an opportunity to consolidate cooperation and advance partnerships in the agro-industry. Slovenia remains a strong advocate of Serbia’s European path, as this will benefit both Serbia and the European Union, Židan said.
The forum particularly emphasised the importance of the exchange of knowledge and experience in agriculture, as well as the need for greater investment in innovation, logistics and the processing sector.
