Glamočić met with Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Nigeria Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Angola Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev.
The Minister actively participated in the plenary sessions at this gathering in Addis Ababa, which he is attending as an envoy of the President of the Republic of Serbia.
The final plenary session of the summit was attended by the President of Ethiopia, His Excellency Taye Atske Selassie Amde, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Stefano Gatti and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed.
In their speeches, the high-ranking officials emphasised the urgent need to accelerate the transformation of food systems and strengthen international cooperation as key prerequisites for achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
They particularly highlighted the recognition of the principle of food sovereignty – the right of peoples to independently shape their food and agricultural policies, in accordance with their own needs, resources and cultural values, outside the dominance of global markets and the influence of multinational corporations.
Glamočić’s participation in this gathering confirms Serbia’s commitment to continue strengthening political and economic ties with friendly countries in Africa and Asia, with a special focus on agricultural cooperation as a key area of common interest.
