Further improvement of cooperation with Greece in field of internal affairs

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović discussed today with Greek Minister of the Interior Theodoros Livanios further improvement of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of migration, border control and public administration.

Dačić emphasised that the questions of issuing personal documents, migration and border crossings are points of contact between the interior ministries of the two countries.

He noted that approximately one million Serbian tourists visit Greece annually, which is why the meeting looked at the important issue of congestion at border crossings, especially at the Evzoni border crossing, and overcoming these problems.

According to him, it is expected that the "one-stop control" at the border crossing with North Macedonia will begin functioning operationally next week, which will significantly affect the speed of crossing the border with Greece.

He assessed that it is important that Livanios announced that Greece will invest more than €20 million in Evzoni so that this border crossing could respond to the large number of tourists visiting Greece.
