Joint work by Interior Ministry, IPA to enhance citizen safety

Deputy Prime Minister in a caretaker capacity and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić met today with International President of the International Police Association (IPA) Martin Hoffmann to discuss joint activities and the Ministry’s support for the work of this international association, which brings together active and retired members of the Serbian police.

The meeting highlighted the importance of the International Police Association’s National Section for Serbia (IPA Serbia) in the exchange of best practices and experiences, noting its role as a link between police officers of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior and their colleagues abroad.

The discussions also covered future joint activities aimed at strengthening citizen safety, particularly in the areas of prevention and community policing.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the IPA World Congress, which will be hosted by Belgrade in the autumn of next year and which is expected to draw nearly 500 participants from 70 of the association's member countries.

President of IPA Serbia Nebojša Pantelić presented Dačić with a gold plaque in recognition of his contribution to achieving the goals and objectives of the IPA.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of the cooperation and support to date and confirmed that they will continue in the period ahead.
