Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said tonight at the Saint Sava Academy in Belgrade that education is the priority of the state, which will continue to work on the foundations laid by Saint Sava.
Brnabic emphasised that the goal is for healthy values to be the backbone of the education system and educational work with students.
According to her, the goal is to develop positive human values in students and improve relationships based on mutual respect, solidarity and respect for diversity.
Brnabic reminded that Saint Sava planted the seeds of nobility, philanthropy, patriotism and justice, adding that it is understandable why the foundations of our state are so strong, faith, striving for better, the need to create good relations with the world and ultimately, our desires to invest so much in the education of the nation and each of our people.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the second annual conference on education in Serbia was held on this very day, where it was discussed what has been done and what needs to be done in education.
She pointed out that the past year was the saddest and most shocking of all that we remember, and that this evening would probably look very different if the year 2023 was not behind us, in which the tragedies occurred in the primary school "Vladislav Ribnikar" in Belgrade and the surrounding villages Mladenovac, Dubona and Malo Orasje.
According to her, in order to prevent this from happening again, we must cultivate understanding and tolerance even more, provide support and be open to conversations.
