Results of Serbia in field of digitalisation, artificial intelligence and biotechnology presented

Belgrade/Paris, 29 November 2022

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development Mathias Cormann met today in Paris and the focus of their meeting was the development of artificial intelligence and the possibilities of its implementation, especially in the public sector.

Brnabic underlined that during the meeting all the activities and results that Serbia achieved in the fields of digitalisation, artificial intelligence and biotechnology were presented.

She noted that there are not many countries that have progressed in the field of digitalisation like Serbia, which is why our country should launch an initiative for membership in the OECD in order to become more visible on the market and more attractive for foreign investments.

The Prime Minister said that she had discussed with Cormann about when Serbia could start this initiative.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the OECD recognised how far our country has progressed in the field of digitalisation and innovation, recalling that during the coronavirus pandemic, it was this organisation that declared Serbia one of the five most innovative countries, which used technology to make life easier for its citizens during the pandemic.

The Prime Minister spoke in Paris today with representatives of the company "RATP DEV", which will work on the project of construction of the Belgrade metro.
