Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that she is extremely satisfied with the fact that the State Data Centre was opened in Kragujevac and the first supercomputer in Serbia and the only one in the region was put into operation.
Speaking on Pink Television, Brnabic pointed out that back in 2016, the government recognised that the fourth industrial revolution was a chance for our country, when we started investing in technology and kept up with all the events.
She specified that Serbia received €1,800,000,000 from the export of technology, and reiterated that artificial intelligence is our strategy for further development.
We are the 26th country in the world to adopt the Artificial Intelligence Development Agenda and the first in this part of the world.
Without this supercomputer, we cannot have artificial intelligence because no other computer can process so much data, the Prime Minister explained.
According to her, the contribution of this new generation of supercomputers and the artificial intelligence that Serbia has today is extremely great for our health.
When you have a supercomputer, as she stated, you practically give it a million radiological images or a mammogram or a CT scan of the lungs, which he then processes, and in practically one day those images are reviewed and analysed.
She pointed out that in that way, doctors are being helped to diagnose faster and more efficiently, and added that the goal is to have personalized medicine in Serbia by 2030.
That way, our citizens will know whether they are destined for some diseases, because prevention is one of the best ways to treat all diseases, Brnabic pointed out and stated that citizens are used to other technological innovations and accept those good changes.
In that context, she announced the opening of a genome sequencing centre on Thursday in Belgrade, explaining that the goal is to have personalized medicine by 2030, through genome sequencing.
