Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, chaired today a session of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Growth, at which the results in industrial production, current macroeconomic indicators and measures for further acceleration of economic growth were discussed.

The council analysed the state of industrial production, with special emphasis on the energy and processing sectors, as well as opportunities for further stimulating growth rates through strengthening domestic production and competitiveness.
The status of foreign direct investments was also analysed, with consideration of measures that would contribute to their further growth, as well as the improvement of the business environment and investment activity.
Special attention was paid to the situation in agriculture, primarily to the challenges in livestock farming and measures to combat African swine fever, as well as to improving the coverage and quality of data from the agricultural sector, which is important for more efficient planning and implementation of agricultural policy.
Macut emphasised that the Government of Serbia continues to implement measures aimed at preserving macroeconomic stability, strengthening industrial production, attracting investments and improving the competitiveness of the domestic economy, with a special focus on sustainable economic growth and improving the living standards of citizens.
