"Daca" – Data Centre Android, their virtual host, welcomed the audience, adding that the Data Centre in Kragujevac is five times larger than the one in Belgrade and that it meets the highest standards for this type of facility, unique in the region in terms of capacity and performance.
The national platform will be available to the state, local self-government, but also to universities, science and technology parks and startup companies.
The government has determined the construction of the State Data Centre in Kragujevac as a project of importance for Serbia, since it is one of the capital investments in that city, worth 30 million.
The data centre covers 14,000 square meters and was built in less than a year and a half.
Vucic said that by launching this platform, Serbia is among 26 countries that have a national platform for the development of artificial intelligence, and one of the few countries with its own Institute for Artificial Intelligence, which leaves unimaginable opportunities for us.
He announced that all data from health centres in Serbia will be combined in the Kragujevac Data Centre and that the collection will begin in the next 48 hours.
He pointed out that the mentioned platform will be important for Serbian agriculture and environmental protection, because thanks to him it will be possible to monitor the changes that will occur in the next 10 years in the field of environment, but also to assess the quality soil, its pH value, what can be sown, how to irrigate and more.
The President emphasized that all this will be important for raising Serbian GDP and the progress of the entire country, stating that the Serbian IT sector now participates in GDP with more than 9.2 percent, while only the surplus in the IT sector will be greater than billion euros.
Director of the IT Office Mihajlo Jovanovic underlined that thanks to the mentioned platform, our country is ready to make a new, evolutionary step in the process of digitalization of our society and provide a tool for even faster and stronger development of our research and innovation community and eGovernment.
He explained that this platform is the latest generation, high-performance supercomputer, manufactured by NVIDIA, ready to process a huge amount of information in a short period of time.
