Training on fight against organised crime according to EU standards to begin

A Letter of Intent was signed today at the Serbian Ministry of Interior, marking the beginning of a technical cooperation programme aiming to train the heads of research units used in the fight against organised crime in southeast Europe.
The programme, consisting of four phases, will be completed in 2011. The signatory countries of the Letter of Intent will actively participate in the project’s planning and implementation, by carrying out, after each phase, an evaluation and a comprehensive assessment on the following necessary steps.
The Letter of Intent was signed by the Norwegian and Slovenian ministries of foreign affairs, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the ministries of interior of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, and the UN provisional administration in Kosovo (UNMIK).
Minister Dragan Jocic signed the letter on behalf of the Serbian Ministry of Interior.
