Slobodan Vuksanovic
At the beginning of the discussion on the Bill on higher education in the Serbian parliament, Vuksanovic pointed out that the law in question is a systemic law that concerns several hundred thousand people.
The basic concept of the law is the change in the way studying is conducted, meaning that both students and professors will have to continually work and be in constant communication with each other during the whole year, explained Vuksanovic.
According to him, students will acquire points throughout the school year, and the more points they acquire, the easier it will be for them to pass their final exam.
Vuksanovic pointed out that the rectors of all state and private universities and representatives of student organisations took part in the law’s preparation.
The adoption of this law will lead to the university’s full autonomy, said Vuksanovic, and added that the Serbian Ministry of Finance concluded that it will be able to finance this law, assuming that the financial situation next year will be the same as this year.
