Miroljub Labus
“Hadley welcomed our country’s progress in cooperation with the Hague tribunal and he was very glad to receive my assurances that the Serbian government wants to close that chapter as soon as possible and to achieve full cooperation, not just progress”, Labus told the Tanjug news agency.
According to Labus, Hadley said that the positive Feasibility Study for Serbia-Montenegro is very important and he promised Washington’s assistance to Belgrade on the road to EU accession.
As for Kosovo-Metohija, Labus said that Hadley expressed an encouraging stance when it comes to defining and assessing standards and initial debate on the province’s future status. Labus recalled that the Serbian government wants to take part in that process in a very responsible manner.
“We have also received support for economic reforms we are conducting, which are not simple, but which simply cannot be delayed any longer”, said Labus and added that the US administration truly believes that results of these reforms will be very positive.
