Stojkovic underlined that the signing of the Resolution on the importance of social elements in the criminal area is aimed at attaining better treatment of offenders and their acknowledgment of the committed act, as well as better protection for victims in relation to their material rights.
The adopted resolutions show that European countries are moving towards unified positions in all areas, Stojkovic said and added that they represent recommendations to be followed until legal regulations in certain areas are adopted.
The Minister of Justice signed yesterday in Helsinki the civil legal Convention on Corruption, which should increase the safety of investments and secure better protection of rights of citizens, while the signing of an additional Protocol for improving legal assistance in criminal matters should enable international cooperation in finding and bringing perpetrators of criminal acts to justice.
