Branimir Ujdur
Ujdur said at the Belgrade auto show that the section to Ljig will be completed by July. Ujdur expressed hope that the 148 kilometre section to Pozega will be finished within six to eight years, adding that a 30-year concession will be offered for this section.
According to Ujdur, the project for a Sumadija main road is being completed. Ujdur also said that the road leading to the border crossing Horgos is being completed and added that the border point on the Serbia-Montenegrin-Hungarian border should be technically equipped by June. After that, construction of the Batrovci border crossing on the Croatian border will kick off as well as the Presevo border crossing with Macedonia, he said.
Serbia will be the first country in Southeastern Europe to introduce the Global Positioning System (GPS), which allows drivers to get information on the shortest possible routes, Ujdur said, noting that the software system will be harmonised with that of Europe.
Ujdur pointed out that three weeks ago Serbia was offered €1.7 billion in financing for the construction of a road network known as the axis of multimodal traffic, thus placing it once again among Europe’s priority corridors.
Ujdur also said that the construction work on E 70 and E 75 roads with a ring road around Belgrade is coming to an end, and that concessions or loans are planned for building the E 80 road on the part of the Nis-Belgrade highway, whereas funds amounting to €200 million from the Hellenic Plan will be set aside for Corridor 10, leading toward Serbia’s south.
