Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov talked today in the Romanian city of Turn Severin with that country’s Minister of Economy and Commerce Ioan Şereş about the cooperation of the electric power industries of the two countries and the reforms achieved in the energy sector.
Minister Naumov told the Tanjug news agency that he and his Romanian counterpart discussed the continuation of what so far has been a successful cooperation. Also, the two ministers exchanged experience and necessary information on the course of reforms in the energy sector and privatisation in Romania.
According to Naumov, the Romanians showed interest in the purchase of electricity and construction of interconnection codes between the two energy systems.
Naumov added that an agreement was reached providing for expert teams to examine the issue of connection of all gas supply systems and construction of the pan-European oil pipeline from Constanza to Triesta, which could be later expanded to western Europe.
The issue of synchronisation of the hydroelectric plant Djerdap 1 was also discussed, as well as Serbian-Romanian relations on this hydroelectric complex.
Naumov announced that he will travel to Sofia in two weeks to sign a memorandum on establishing a gas supply system between Serbia and Bulgaria.
