Opening the exhibition at the Historical Archives of Belgrade, Dacic said that there can be no happy future if its creation is not based on historical lessons, and pointed out that the lesson of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust is that we must fight against hatred and fascism.
It is our responsibility to loudly oppose genocide and crimes against humanity wherever they occur, and to never forget the victims, he said and underlined that he, as the Prime Minister of Serbia, will continue to transmit these messages in all his activities and contacts.
According to him, the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes during World War II were the greatest defeat of the mankind in history, and that apart from the Jews, the ones who suffered the most were the Slavs, Roma, political opponents and others whom the Nazi regime wanted to destroy.
Dacic stated that we must cherish the memory of all the people killed in the turmoil of the war, of the survivors and their rescuers.
"Never again" is the message that we need to send out to everyone and primarily to children and young people. The International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust obliges us to teach young people anti-fascist tradition so that that evil would not happen again, he said and warned of the continued danger of escalation of hatred based on prejudice.
