Opening the new production line in Vrsac, Dacic reiterated that the vital interest of Serbia is to attract foreign direct investment, and recalled that Germany, together with Russia and Italy, is Serbia’s largest trade partner.
It is very important to establish cooperation and partnership with a country that has a strong role in Europe and the world. Such projects are a bridge for establishing common ground between our two countries and our peoples, said the Prime Minister.
He emphasised that Serbia will do everything to legally facilitate and encourage foreign investment, noting that it is necessary to create an environment for business and investment better than those that exist in other countries in the region.
It is essential that Serbia is recording an increase in output and gross domestic product, Dacic said, noting that this year's growth target is 2%, but adding it is necessary to achieve sustained annual growth rate of 5%.
Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic said that this investment of Fresenius in Vrsac is of great importance, and added that it will provide jobs for a large number of new workers.
Pajtic pointed out that Fresenius is a global leader and that the arrival of this company is strong evidence that Vojvodina and Serbia are attractive for investment.
According to him, most of the output is intended for export, which would reduce Serbia’s trade deficit.
He expressed satisfaction over the fact that German companies until now invested approximately €900 million in Vojvodina.
German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm said that this investment is proof that Serbia is a very attractive place for investment, which is particularly true in Vrsac.

He said that the company intends to open a new factory in November 2014 in the Technology Park in Vrsac. The facility will span 10,320 square metres and will require 744 employees.
