Presenting the first IPPC licence to representatives from cement plant Titan Cementara located in Kosjeric, Dulic underlined that the goal of this licence is to prevent and control pollution of the environment through rational resource management and saving on natural resources.
The IPPC licence has now been issued in Serbia for the first time, the Minister stressed, adding that it is an important part of the process to access the EU.
The issuance process demands hard work and cooperation with foreign experts and cement plants are the first that have to be issued with the licence, he explained.
The next in line are other companies in the industrial sector – the ones producing and processing glass, wood, leather and similar, the Minister added.
He underlined that the largest polluters will be a priority, recalling that many Serbian companies operate in old facilities and therefore require considerable investment and good cooperation with the relevant ministry in order to improve the current situation.
The IPPC licence means that a company has the best technology and that its products do not pose a problem to the environment, Dulic concluded.
