Speaking at the two-day regional conference of the ministers of justice and the interior of southeastern Europe held in Becici, Montenegro, Dacic highlighted the importance of Serbia as a factor of both regional and European stability.
He also pointed to participation of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior in regional and European initiatives that were launched with the aim of improving cooperation of police forces in the fight against serious crimes. Some of these initiatives are the Black Sea Initiative, MARRI, Brdo Process, the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, SECI and others.
Decisive steps in the fight against all forms of organised crime as a direct threat to Serbia’s European integration have been made, Dacic underlined and added that Serbia will continue to insist on boosting all form of international cooperation, particularly in this part of Europe.
On the second day of the meeting in Becici, which also gathered representatives of relevant international organisations and European institutions, two declarations were adopted.
These are the Declaration on enhancing regional cooperation and coordination in the fight against organised crime and the Joint Declaration of the ministers of justice and the interior in connection with the approval of the Regional strategic document for justice and the interior for the period from 2011 to 2013 with the accompanying Action plan.
