IMF approves stand-by arrangement for Serbia

The IMF approved a €2.942 billion stand-by arrangement for Serbia. The arrangement will ensure macroeconomic stability for Serbia during the next two years.
According to this decision Serbia can draw €788 million immediately.
The IMF stated that the funds are being provided to support the Serbian government’s economic measures for dealing with the effects of the global economic crisis.
The IMF has extended the stand-by arrangement with Serbia by one year, until the middle of April 2011.
