Sutanovac, who attended a ceremony held to mark the 60th anniversary of the arms factory Milan Blagojevic in Lucani, said that subsidised loans by the Serbian government issued on an annual interest rate of 3% instead of the earlier 24% will make it possible for companies who make use of them to achieve good results.
He stressed that Defence Ministry representatives are making every effort to promote and strengthen the Serbian defence industry.
The Minister said that Turkey, Iraq, China and India are Serbia’s defence industry partners, stressing that arms exports greatly help reduce Serbia’s foreign trade deficit.
Sutanovac said that the factory in Lucani has held an important place in the country’s economy for a number of years, adding that modernization will help expand the list of buyers significantly.
Director of the factory Milan Blagojevic Rados Radovanovic said that the company expects a record export of nearly $27 million this year.
He stressed that the factory is trying to expand its capacities and incorporate modern technology. He also expressed gratitude to the Defence Ministry for its support.
Sutanovac received a plaque from the factory as a sign of appreciation for the Ministry’s support and extraordinary cooperation.
