The Serbian Ministry of Interior stated that its criminal police, after several months of work, arrested members of one of the best organised international criminal groups involved in drug trafficking.
The members of the criminal group were illegaly producing, storing and selling drugs in the territory of Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Switzerland over extended period of time as well as committing other crimes with elements of violence.
The Ministry listed Aleksandar Stevanovic (1967), Predrag Njegovan (1966), Ljuban Ecim (1964), Igor Rankovic (1976) from Belgrade, Velimir Bila (1971) from Croatia, as arrested. They all will be brought before the investigative judge after the expiry of detention.
During a search of their flats in Belgrade, the police found out
more than 48 kg of heroin, 4kg of cocaine, two guns,
many forged documents and €210,000.
Discovered drugs are of the finest quality with a value of over € 1 million in the illegal market.
The criminal police continue to search for the missing members of this group.
