Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by Director for Transport Sue Barrett.
Mihajlovic said that the topics of the meeting were restructuring of the Serbian railways and the reconstruction of roads in Serbia, potential new projects in cooperation with this bank and revision of cooperation to date.
Barrett said that there are many challenges and that some projects should be accelerated, but that this financial institution is satisfied in general and that cooperation can be continued.
Speaking about the process of reform of the Serbian railways, Barrett noted that a lot has been done by splitting this system into three companies and stated that the EBRD is ready to help with further reforms.
She praised the progress of the project of rehabilitation of 1,100 kilometres of roads in Serbia, worth around €400 million, partly financed by the EBRD.
