Minister of Defence Nebojsa Rodic and his Moldovan counterpart Vitalie Marinuta signed today the Agreement on defence cooperation, thus creating a legal framework for future activities in this field of mutual interest.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Defence says that at a meeting held at the House of Guard “Topcider", the two ministers expressed interest in taking steps aimed at developing bilateral military cooperation and boosting partner and friendly relations.
Rodic thanked Moldova for deciding to send 41 troops as part of the Italian contingent of KFOR.
During its two-day visit to Serbia, the Moldovan delegation will be acquainted with the capacity of the Military Academy, Faculty of Medicine of the Military Medical Academy and the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations.
In addition, Serbia’s experiences in the European integration process in the fields of reform of the defence system and preparation of strategic documents will be discussed.
The guests from Moldova will hold meetings with Serbian officials at Serbian Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is added in the statement.
