Serbian Minster of Economy Predrag Bubalo met today with World Bank Director and Regional Coordinator for South Eastern Europe and Central Asia Orsalia Kalantzopoulos and World Bank's Country Manager for Serbia-Montenegro Carolyn Jungr. He informed them on the successful acceleration of the privatisation process, making special notice of the companies that privatised following restructuring, such as Livnica Kikinda foundry, Sever Subotica, Rekord Rakovica, Javor Ivanjica and about the beginning of privatisation of Zastava from Kragujevac.
During the meeting, the successful cooperation of the World Bank and the Ministry of Economy in the creation of stimulative business environment in order to boost economic activities was pointed out.
Bubalo conveyed to World Bank representatives the positions of the Ministry of Economy concerning the future of the Bor mining and metallurgical complex and voiced hope that that issue will be solved in the best way.
Kalantzopoulos stated that economic flows in Serbia are favourable and confirmed that the World Bank wants to encourage projects that will contribute to the strengthening of Serbia's economic stability.
