A statement by the Ministry of Finance and Economy says that Gorenje has so far invested €100 million in Serbia and currently employs over 1,300 workers, while the number of indirect jobs is constantly increasing through the expansion of network of local distributors.
The company Gorenje in Serbia exports more than 90% of its production on the markets of Russia, Germany, the Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia and other.
Precisely for that reason the Serbian government will invest €15 million by 31 January 2015 and become a minority co-owner of all factories of Gorenje in Serbia.
These funds will be primarily used for the expansion and modernisation of the factory of washing machines in Zajecar, in which €22 million will be invested jointly over the next two years.
The joint investment envisages the employment of 700 new workers over the next three years in all Gorenje factories in Serbia (in Zajecar, Valjevo and Stara Pazova), as well as the increase of production in all factories from €108 million in 2012 to €230 million in 2016.
The increase of export is also envisaged, from €95 million in 2012 to €210 million in 2016.
