Head of the Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric told Tanjug yesterday that Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, and Capital Investment Minister Velimir Ilic met last Friday with Alpha Group representative Igor Tsukanov at the initiative of Russian Ambassador in Belgrade Alexander Alekseev.

Djuric said that at the beginning of the meeting, Tsukanov verbally informed the Prime Minister and the ministers that Alpha Group had acquired BK Trade and that details of the purchase would be provided later on.
According to him, Bubalo told Tsukanov that there is a dispute over the ownership of Mobtel, since the government’s commission had established that the state equity in Mobtel amounted to at least 59 percent rather than 49 percent, as presented in the documentation.
Djuric said that Bubalo also informed Tsukanov that the state and BK Trade are in the process of international arbitration over Mobtel ownership and that the government will take an official stand and find a way to protect the state equity in Mobtel after it officially receives the purchase contract.
According to him, Bubalo said that once the exact size of state holding in Mobtel is determined, the state will sell its stake through a public tender.
